Speculation For Da Nation

Erm, I think I'm happy about the Martha news. On the plus side we get more more Martha, but there was still no pay-off for all the crap she went through. I'm not sure that I can wait a year to see that pay off and think about it.
nostalgia_lj said this as well, but Martha is probably being brought back for when Ten regenerates at the end of Series 4. I'm hoping though, that she'll be back in Episode 6 or so . . . in fact I'm going to wager now that it will be a two-parter. Can it be Moffat plz? KTHNX!
I'm not sure about Martha's character in Torchwood. I reckon that she might be qualified by then so she can show Owen how its done. She's not gonna be able to swear and she wont be having teh sex - in fact I reckon there will be a bit less of those in S2 as I'm sure a lot of kiddies will want to watch. Actually, she can live with Jack in the hub and hopefully they can show the rest of the team just exactly how you go about saving the world without fucking it up.
Am I the only one who wasn't bothered about Jack = Boe? I already knew that's who Boe was and I was expecting some huge reveal, but I think the way they did it was really quite nice.
The paradox thing wasn't as cool as I thought it would be. It really would have been better if the paradox was the whole series and started at Smith and Jones, but never mind. Rusty knows best! (That was sarcasm BTW).
In hindsight, I'm glad Martha left the Doctor (of course, before we had this announcement from the Beeb I was so angry) cos why should she stay? He is an arse. Watching it though, I was sort of convinced that she would be back. Then can we please have our pay off in S4 plz Rusty? Oh and a boy companion? Pretty one too please.
And teh Titanic - yays! I am quite excited by that. Bring on Christmas!
Oh and I'll hopefully do finish ma macros at some point this week, I still need to digest the finale.

Date: 2007-07-02 10:13 am (UTC)I hope so. They can have a sleepover party. Roast marshmellows over a fire and feed them to the pterodactyl. I wouldn't mind her staying at Tosh's but I'd rather she spent her time more with Jack.

Date: 2007-07-02 01:08 pm (UTC)It could go something like:
Martha visits Cardiff for some medical convention or what not, runs into Jack. He's in the middle of something bizarre, and then he and Team Torchwood get into something that results in Martha inexplicably disappearing - probably something to do with the rift. Jack doesn't have the time hopper thing anymore so either he or one of Martha's family call the Doctor. Someone says they want to go with the Doctor to find Martha with him. They then spend six eps getting into all manner of scrapes trying to find her - and then they do. But then Stuff Has Happened and by virtue of this, even more of that wacky angst and emoing can start churning out of everyone.
It could work, but the writing team for DW aren't that quick on the uptake and will probably pass it up for lots of ridiculous hi-jinks type eps with a new female companion. And then suddenly Martha will ring him up for some reason and then the second half of season with comprise of Martha tagging along and being jealous of the New One before deciding to leave again. *rolls eyes*
I'm not keen on Jack = Boe but I can live with it.
As for the Titanic seeing as the Cameron version had characters called Jack and Rose, I'm not sure that RTD won't go all mary sue on us again.

Date: 2007-07-02 01:26 pm (UTC)By the time next year rolls round I will be ready to deal with all this but right now I am still hurting.
I am happy that we will get more Martha but just not as happy as, I guess, I should be.
I have NO HOPE for S4. Not after the way I was let down for S3. None.

Date: 2007-07-02 01:38 pm (UTC)Im looking forward to a new companion I think. The show needs change at the end of the day, as long as she's not in love with him. I want it to be a boy but I doubt it will be.

Date: 2007-07-02 02:15 pm (UTC)Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Martha moves permanently to TW after S4 wraps. It just seems like that is the way this stories going. Martha can never really travel with the Doctor long term, because unlike Rose she actually has a life to return to. Putting her at TW keeps her in the Universe, yet keeps her on planet Earth.
A quote from the Doctor to Jack at the end of the finale really sort of struck me. He said something to the effect of being Earth's Defender is not a bad job to have. That's what I ultimately think is Martha's role.
Just wish the Doctor could have appreciated her better while he had her.
