1. Haven't stopped thinking about last night's Law & Order: UK all day. I think the main thing is that I didn't hate it. It was a great piece of telly. Totally difficult to sit through (the scene when eveyone's watching the tape is the most horrific thing I've seen in ages), but brilliant at the same time. Freema was totes amazing. She really has the power to break my heart. Haters on who_anon who still claim she's shit can STFU. I'm also ignoring the fact Chibbers & Co. want us to ship Matt/Alesha, and I feel justified in doing so as the James/Alesha moments were too special to ignore. HIS FACE. He was so heartbroken. Oh, man. It killed me. Ben Daniels is very quickly becoming one of my favourite actors, yes.

Am slightly miffed that my James/Alesha fic is now totally jossed, but hey, that's what I get for being lazy and not finishing it before last night. Fic may well still happen, we shall see.

2. Ashes to Ashes to return April 20th. A day earlier than was reported yesterday, but still an excellent early birthday present for me. *pulls party poppers*

3. WILF IS COMPANION. COMPANION. I mean, yeah, I knew he was back, but this is so much betterer. And he's in two specials. WANTS IT NOW.

Oh yeah, Donna's back too.

I'm not having a difficult time ignoring any attempts to have me ship Matt/Alesha; there was plenty of wind for my sails throughout that episode, especially the whole tape-watching scene and the conversation following in her office. I wibble when I think about her asking him if he watched the tape and his affirmation.

And hurray for Wilf, Companion! Very exciting news, and something the fandom can certainly rally around!

Ben Daniels was totally amazing inthe episode. He was so heartbroken. And the moment where Alesha asked James to fight for her and he said he will just broke my heart. I could totally ignore the Matt/Alesha moments cause they were totally wtf as it is the first time in the whole season where they have any real moment (not counting Matt's one-sided crush on Alesha) and they pale in comparsion with all the James/Alesha moments, in this ep or in the season as a whole. I felt that the writers were trying to be a bit equal-oportunity with some of the Matt-Alesha when it's clear that the relationship between James and Alesha is the emotional heart of the show.

This. I could rewatch that scene all day. The way Freema's voice kept breaking as well ♥. I'd obviously just skip the bit before that.

Is it all the more heartbreaking because you can see in James' eyes that he thinks he can't win the case. Wonderful bit of acting from both of them there. (I also love how George took the coppers away so Alesha and James could have a moment. I love George like a crazy thing. It doesn't help that I'm totally in love with Bill Patterson.)

It's not wrong to ship Ben/Freema. I ship them since I saw them together in that L&O event at the BFI. They were just so comfortable and partner-ish around the other. I got the feeling they got on really well right there (no wonder, after all they are both very alike, nice, quiet, private people) and that they totally had a blast working together.

1. I liked it too. I'm a bit bemused by the MASSIVE HATE it's getting, although rape stories are always contentious. Lots of outrage coming from the key demographic of People Who Haven't Seen It, which is nice.

As for who_anon, I went cold turkey a few weeks ago, and find my online experience and overall fannish life is much better. Although I miss the gossip.

3. I am less excited about Wilf than the rest of fandom, but I'm thrilled about Donna.
