There are no words for this scene. Just none. I've watched 5 times now: once yesterday and I've just had it on now. OH, SHOW, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU.
Best scene ever...and one of the best written scenes in the history of West Wing (and that's saying a lot). I'm still in love with it after many years. Aaron Sorkin is truly an artist...and so is Martin Sheen.
I don't think I react to the scene as one of symbolic powerfulness or anything like maybe is the point, BUT OH GOD HE IS SO SAD IT MAKES ME SO SAD. It's just crippled and personal...which perhaps comes to the same thing.
That part right there is the most important element of the scene because not everyone is going to give a shit about it's setting or the language Bartlet uses. For me it's all these tiny little elements that make it so perfect.
That is one of my all-time favourite pieces of television history. I adore the West Wing - it is full of moments I love - but that truly touches me.
You're just starting to watch the show? eeeeeee, how exciting! What did you think of "Noel"? I remember that being one of my ultimate episodes from early on. The West Wing is just true brilliance, though - I wanted Bartlet leading my country, I girlcrushed badly on CJ, I adore Leo and Charlie, Toby is my grumpy self but about 10 times smarter than I could ever hope to be, and I have an absolute passion for Josh and Donna. You have so much to look forward to!
ARGH, I have no West Wing icons! This must be remedied.
I know this has nothing to do with the actual post but your mood theme is AMAYZAN! Who made it, if ya don't mind me asking? And where can I get it? *puppy eyes*
